Bogotá, Colombia · Est. since the streets
Bearing witness — to the rawness of the street,
the silence of a landscape, the truth in a face.

Alejandra Valero is a Colombian photographer based in Bogotá. At 36, she has built a practice defined by an unflinching honesty — a willingness to stand still in uncomfortable places and let the image come to her, rather than forcing it.
She grew up in Bogotá, a city that demands attention. Its contradictions — the colonial and the concrete, the intimate and the overwhelming — became her first classroom. The street was not a backdrop; it was the subject itself. That early education in looking without flinching is still the foundation of every frame she makes.
"I don't photograph what's beautiful. I photograph what's true — and trust that truth, if you look long enough, is always beautiful."
Her work spans street and documentary photography, Andean and travel landscapes, and intimate portraiture. She has exhibited in Colombia and internationally, and continues to explore the space where raw social reality meets the sublime of the natural world. Whether navigating a market in Paloquemao or a mountain pass in the Andes, she brings the same patient, realist eye.
Today, alongside her personal projects and exhibition practice, Alejandra works with brands, cultural organizations, and individuals who understand that powerful photography isn't decoration — it's documentation.
